ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Terri Michaels!

Thanks so much for stopping by—I’m so glad you’re here! Whether you’re a parent, a fellow teacher, or just someone who loves children’s books, I hope you find something helpful, inspiring, or just plain fun while you’re here.

I’m an enthusiastic elementary reading specialist who absolutely loves helping children unlock the magic of reading. I believe that reading is the key to academic success, and there's nothing more rewarding than guiding my young learners on their journey to becoming confident readers.

I live in the beautiful countryside of Buncombe, Illinois, where I enjoy a life filled with creativity, outdoor adventures, and quality time with my family. Traveling and exploring new places fuel my passion for storytelling, while my favorite role is being a grandmother, which brings me the greatest joy and inspiration.

In my debut book, *Pick a Tissue, Not Your Nose* I set out to entertain kids while sharing a fun message about the importance of hygiene. With a sprinkle of humor and plenty of silly scenarios, I hope to help parents and teachers address and squash this habit in a fun and engaging way. Through my work, I hope to inspire a love for reading, one child at a time.

And there’s more to come—I’m excited to share even more books and resources with you soon!
